Upcoming Queer Books I Need to Read IMMEDIATELY

Upcoming Queer Books I Need to Read IMMEDIATELY

I’ve been struggling with what to write for my blog for a while, so I figured I’d write something that I actually want to write about: queer books.

Below you’ll find a few books that I’m looking forward to releasing. This list isn’t comprehensive, and definitely doesn’t have all the books I’m looking forward to. It’s just the ones that are on the forefront of my mind 😉

The Ghosts We Keep by Mason Deaver

After reading Mason’s I Wish You All the Best, finding out that they have another book coming out was so exciting. I trust Mason to write honest and important books with non-binary leads, based on IWYATB and how amazing it was. I can’t wait to read this one, and add another book to my shelf of favorites.

Belle RévolteBelle Révolte by Linsey Miller

Linsey’s Mask of Shadows duology is probably one of my favorite book series of all time. I loved Sal and their whole story, and even all of the side characters and world. When I learned that Linsey had sold two stand-alone fantasy novels, I was so excited. I can’t wait to get my hands on Belle Révolte, and devour Linsey’s new book. Everything about this book that has been released has only increased my need to get this book as fast as possible. Crossing my fingers that this (#1) Mask of Shadows fan is remembered in ARC mailings 😉

The Sword in the Stars by Amy Rose Capetta & Cori McCarthy

loved the first book in this series, Once & Future, and was magically mailed an ARC in the mail by the publisher. (I’m still shocked that they mailed one to me. They never responded to my email, either, just sent the book on it’s way!) Once & Future ended abruptly, and I suspect that it leads directly into the next book, and I need to know how this ends. I keep picturing how the cover could look too, and y’all. I NEED it.

DocileDocile by K.M. Szpara

I don’t know much about about this book, but I have read Szpara’s writing before, and the summary for this book sounds phenomenal. I also really enjoy the design of it, so this book just ticks every box that interests me. I can’t wait to read this one, especially with the tagline “There is no consent under capitalism.”

Between Perfect and Real by Ray Stoeve

Again, I don’t know much about this one, but I do know that this had Own Voices trans representation, and we always need more of that. I’ve always loved the stories where someone realizes they’re trans by playing the gender in a play (reminds me of Georgeya know?) I’m excited to see another book like this that’s YA instead of MG.

Gideon the Ninth (The Ninth House, #1)Gideon the Ninth by Tamsyn Muir

I was supposed to get an ARC of this book, but it never showed. That doesn’t minimize my excitement for this book, because not every story can say it’s queer necromancers in space. This book sounds right up my alley, when it comes to queer, horror, and SFF.

Cemetery Boys by Aiden Thomas

Simliar to Between Perfect and Real, Cemetery Boys has Own Voices representation. And again, this book falls perfectly into queer paranormal/horror, which is right up my alley.
