About the Blog
The Book Deviant was created in June of 2016 by a bookish teen that needed a place a talk about books. Originally called Reviews by a Bibliophile, The Book Deviant focused solely on giving reviews to books the owner had just read, and giving honest and personal opinions. As the owner grew as a person and understood themself better, Reviews by a Bibliophile was renamed, and began it’s journey into focusing on queer YA, with a few random adult, middle grade, and non-queer books in the mix.
Currently, The Book Deviant is dedicated to spreading the love to diverse books and authors. No longer a kid, the owner of The Book Deviant wants others to read these amazing books and spread the love like them.
About the Blogger
My name is Avery–I’m a 20 year old junior college student who identifies as agenderflux, and I use they/them, he/him, or ve/ver pronouns. I am on the asexual spectrum and aromantic.
At college, I am double majoring in Publishing and Gender Studies. My big dream is to be a literary agent or editor, and I’d love to focus on queer books. I love reading, writing, and gaming, but normally spend my time procrastinating on all my schoolwork. Normally, I always have at least one book going, but recently it’s turning to three/four books at once.
Some of my favorite genres include: fantasy, horror, thriller, sci-fi, & YA!
Some of my favorite books include Long Macchiatos and Monsters by Alison Evans, The Gentleman’s Guide to Vice and Virtue by Mackenzi Lee, Mask of Shadows and Ruin of Stars by Linsey Miller, and Tenderness by Xan West.
A few of my favorite authors include Linsey Miller, Alison Evans, Austin Chant, Julia Ember, and Richard Ford Burley.
My birthday is March 13. Feel free to contact me on any social media if you want to chat!
Thanks for reading this far, and thanks for checking out my review blog!!
